My Journey

When did your coaching journey begin?

My coaching journey began in 1st grade when my Mom started homeschooling me. I had the privilege of exploring intuitive methods for creative learning through auditory, tactile, and visual modalities. This was the early phase when I was allowed to think for myself and guide my own journey, exploring the world and how it worked. After graduating high school (HSES) and college (UVM), I found myself asking even deeper questions about how our bodies and minds function in the context of life, leading me to exciting information about physiology, psychology, and the electro-magnetics of our energy-field. I later became a certified personal trainer with brands like Equinox and Frankly Fitness, coached basketball at Dribble Basketball Camps, and taught after-school classes at St. Luke’s Episcopal School (K-8), giving me well-rounded experience with hundreds of kids, teens and adults. I realized that I truly love helping others move beyond challenges to achieve their highest level of skill, intellect, and expression.

What is your outlook on coaching and education now?

Through my experience coaching/teaching myself and others, I have found that society has created a segmented educational structure in which we compartmentalize various subjects and teach them separately from each other. This method has value, but significant limitations due to the fact that nothing in the world functions by itself. Everything is always interrelating within the greater context of community and society. I continue to discover that no matter what subject we are learning, whether it be cooking, art, music, or science, there is a through-line that connects it within the web-of-life. This broader connection allows me to identify primary-principles and themes that are present in every subject I teach that apply to every facet of life.

Why did you choose to coach others?

It’s my knowing that everyone has unlimited potential waiting to be discovered. I see so many lose their enthusiasm for learning due to the outdated methods they were subjected to in school. All it takes is one incredible coach to unlock the inherent curiosity for growth and development. Then all of a sudden a new world opens where you get to take ownership of your own education and life becomes your classroom.

That’s my ultimate goal: to help others find the same joy in discovering their own inherent abilities!

How would you describe your teaching style?

My approach is an intuitive holistic method that unifies various modalities to maximize our Health, Wellness, and Fulfillment. Within this structure, I utilize positive reinforcement to encourage my students to gently go beyond their comfort zone in a safe, open, and creative environment. We do this through play, exploration, and improvisation: three vital parts of what make learning so stimulating and valuable. Over time we actually learn together as participants realize what was beneath the surface all along.

What’s the best way to begin working with you?

Extra Credit: Is your last name really Fresco?

My given last name is actually Crespo…but in High School I was given the nickname Fresco. Over time it has come to represent the freshness that I feel within and want to share with others. It is the aliveness that we can experience when Life becomes an adventure!
